The security deposit (if configured for your property) should be handled by you, the homeowner, unless it is an Airbnb booking. If you are claiming part of the deposit from your guest please be sure to justify the amount to the guest and to document everything.
In Airbnb cases where you would like to claim the security deposit, please be sure to take pictures of the damage and send them to customer service via email or Whatsapp. Please include the booking ID and a detailed explanation so customer service can open a case on Airbnb and claim the deposit.
Airbnb will also ask for invoices and links to the websites of the items that need to be replaced, please make sure to send that to customer service as well. Airbnb gives customer service a deadline, please be sure to send all of the information including invoices, pictures and links as soon as possible after check-out.
